McKinney-Vento is supposed to help homeless children receive a decent education. But much still depends on the ability of each school district to reach families in need. (Author)
This article is focused on the social and contextual barriers to education that homeless children face. It also examines policies that are in place to address these barriers, including the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act, and pressing issues that need to be addressed. (HRC)
