The supportive housing programs and service providers often end up becoming a de facto community for these persons, in addition to the role of service and treatment provider. This webinar defined social connectedness and how it is different, yet related, to the concepts of social capital and social inclusion. In addition, the presenters identified challenges in addressing this need and presented strategies for supportive housing providers to assist consumers to connect to resources in their communities, build social connectedness, and serve as a bridge for the consumer to access those resources.</p>]]></description><link>http://homeless.samhsa.gov/Resource/Social-Connectedness-An-Introduction-for-Services-in-Supportive-Housing-Providers-51627.aspx</link><guid>51627</guid></item></channel></rss>
