The National Association of County Behavioral Health Directors (NACBHD) is a membership organization comprising county behavioral health authorities responsible for the planning, oversight, and/or delivery of mental health, development disabilities, and substance abuse services. NACBHD’s members are county authorities in 21 states. These jurisdictions contain 75 percent of the United States’ population. NACBHD’s membership also includes state-based organizations representing community mental health boards, mental health centers, mental health/developmental disabilities services, and community mental health and substance abuse programs. NACBHD provides traditional membership services including advocacy and policy analysis; conferences; the NACBHD Bulletin (a membership newsletter published six times per year); and a membership directory.
