On any given night, an estimated 500 to 600 youth are homeless on their own - not with their parents - in Minnesota. Seven out of 10 have spent time in some type of placement away from their family, primarily foster care but also group homes and other institutions. This report details Wilder's survey of 129 homeless youth under age 18 and more than 300 homeless young adults (age 18 to 20) on Oct. 23, 2003. (Authors)
