One in 50 American children experience homelessness each year. Homelessness has a devastating impact on children’s health, development, academic achievement, and overall well-being. However, with support, children can grow and thrive amidst adversity. Participants learned how homeless service providers can foster resiliency in children experiencing homelessness. Presenter Katie Volk discussed how children fall into homelessness, the challenges they face and how fostering resiliency can improve their chances of succeeding.
