I think the key word in Permanent Supportive Housing is the word "Supportive." I readily agree that housing is very important and everyone deserves a warm, dry, and safe place to live. I also am in favor of the "Housing First" models for those same reasons. I want to focus on the importance of having the proper support structure in place because when the door closes and that person is in their safe place all alone, what then? "Housing First" focus on stability and harm reduction but is there enough follow up support to ensure someone's success? That is why I support Permanent Supportive Housing because it ensures that there will be follow up visits and supportive services to ensure someone's success and continued recovery. I think every "Housing First" client should be first housed in supportive housing.

I always envy government like yours who find ways to solve their housing problems. I live in a place that is small in area but big in population. I hope our government would take an effort to set priorities to solve homelessness too.

Shelter is one of the basic needs and in the country where I come from, many people are homeless and live in different kinds of 'home' just to cover themselves from the heat and rain.
I hope states and governments will find a way to solve the problem of homelessness and provide a secure place for people to stay permanently.
I appreciate the posts in this website that talks about the plans and activities that have been done to help minimize homelessness. Thank you.
