Emergency Food and Shelter National Board Program
Description:
This Federally funded emergency program, begun in 1983 and currently part of the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act, continues to provide funds for basic food and shelter services, including feeding programs, sheltering programs, rent and mortgage programs, and utility programs. Local Boards are established to select agencies referred to as Local Recipient Organizations that will receive monies to supplement their provision of food and shelter services in their jurisdiction.
