Consumers as Colleagues
Having consumers assume the roles of providers is a new direction in service provision, which has culminated in the fields of substance abuse, mental health and homeless services. Utilizing their experiential knowledge is a way to develop relationships and foster trust with current consumers of services, but also to assist in the development of meaning in the lives of consumers. Here you will find research and information on the nature of peers in the work place.
