Description: The Child Welfare League of America developed this curriculum to create a process for Child Protective Services and Homeless Service Providers to communicate and collaborate. Both the Instructors' Manual and the Participants' Manual are available for free download on the National Center for Housing and Child Welfare’s website. It is a tool to help workers from both systems join together to improve the lives of the families and youth with whom they work.
Content: The intended audiences for this training are child welfare front-line workers—child protection and family service workers (in family preservation and family support services) and homeless services workers who provide direct services to the homeless and the precariously housed through housing assistance, shelter, and support services.

The Child Welfare League of America (CWLA), with support from the Freddie Mac Foundation, has developed this curriculum to promote and initiate cross-systems education, training, and collaboration for child protective services workers and housing providers to address the housing and safety issues that cause many children to be separated from their families.
