Rates of substance use and serious psychological distress (SPD) often are the highest among older adolescents and younger adults. This short report reviews data from the 2002, 2003, and 2004 National Survey on Drug Use and Health looking at the rate of substance use disorder and SPD in the past 12 months among young adult males ages 18 to 25.
