The National Alliance to End Homelessness has published this guide
and companion to help organizations create a homelessness prevention
program or improve an existing prevention program. It includes
information about:
- The basics of homelessness prevention;
- Critical decisions for program;
- Start-up decisions and tools;
- Interventions; and
- Program evolution.
The companion includes information about the nature and costs of homelessness and how to assess community needs and resources.
The guide and companion were prepared by Abt Associates. The primary
author was Marge Wherley, with contributions by Dr. Dennis Culhane and
